Cazerny Bussey: Turning His Vision Into a Movement

What happens when someone takes an idea born from personal experience and turns it into a platform where other people can be heard? For Cazerny Bussey, that idea became Even Though I’m Blind—a song, and later the name of a growing blind-led organization.

Bussey is a recording artist, author, entrepreneur, and founder of Even Though I’m Blind, Inc. (ETIB). His work connects music, storytelling, advocacy, and practical resources for blind and visually impaired people. And the most compelling part isn’t a job title. It’s the space he’s creating for other voices.

From Music to a Mission

Originally from Brooklyn, Bussey has spoken about growing up around music and becoming blind as a teenager. His song Even Though I’m Blind later inspired the name of his organization. What started as an expression of his life became the foundation for a wider mission: giving blind people room to tell their own stories instead of letting others tell those stories for them.

In a 2026 interview with Dr. Kirk Adams, Bussey discussed why community visibility and sharing resources matter to him. Rather than centering pity, his approach emphasizes lived experience, creativity, and connection.

Creating Platforms for Blind Voices

ETIB isn’t focused on just one kind of outreach. Its work includes ETIB Radio, interview podcasts, and a directory highlighting blind-owned businesses and creators. These projects offer different ways to discover music, meet people, and find opportunities within the community.

That matters because representation is more than being mentioned in somebody else’s story. It’s also having somewhere to share your own experience, promote your own work, and connect with people who understand it.

Building Partnerships and Expanding Conversations

In August 2026, ETIB joined Access Information News as a sponsoring organization, creating another way to reach people interested in accessibility, advocacy, and disability-community news.

That same month, ETIB reported a conversation between Bussey and hip-hop artist Busta Rhymes at a SiriusXM and Pandora listening event in New York. Their exchange explored how blind people experience and understand the world beyond sight—a reminder of what can happen when those conversations reach a wider audience.

Thinking About the Next Generation

Bussey is also the author of The Money Master: Alex’s Guide to Financial Literacy, a book he has promoted as a resource to introduce young readers to saving, investing, and financial decision-making.

It’s a different kind of project from a radio program, but the purpose connects: putting useful knowledge into people’s hands and encouraging them to imagine what they can build.

Why The Blind Dynasty Is Sharing His Story

At The Blind Dynasty, we want to recognize blind and visually impaired people for their work, leadership, talent, and contributions—not as exceptions to low expectations, but as people whose accomplishments deserve attention on their own terms.

Cazerny Bussey’s story shows how one creative idea can grow into a place for other people to be seen and heard. ETIB is still building, and that’s part of what makes following its journey interesting: the work is happening now, in public, through conversations, collaborations, and community participation.
